This Piedmont style blend from Federico Russo is as easy to drink as it is full of depth. The blend is built on Barbera with a changing amount of Freisa, Grignolino, and Bonarda to support. The grapes are grown on sandy, limestone soils which carry through into the structure of the wine with a subtle chalkiness on the palate. That minerality is balanced with bright raspberry, rich plum and blackberry. Its rustic and smooth, and embodies the Italian saying simple but not boring.
