The original Ron del Barrilito, aged 6 to 10 years in white oak barrels that were previously used for aging Oloroso sherry in Jerez, Spain. Its been made in the same place and in the same way since 1880.
Medium body with a natural dark reddish color. Aromas of almonds, vanilla, raisins, and bananas with a strong woody backbone. Very smooth and fruity sweetness with a lingering smoky finish.
In 1871, Pedro Fernndez returned to his family home at Hacienda Santa Ana after studying engineering in France, where he learned about the process of making fine brandy and cognac. Applying what he had learned, he started to develop a rum recipe. By 1880, the formula was perfected. To this day, 140 years later, nothing about it has changed. Its still aged and blended in the same way and in the same place. Not even the bottles label has changed.
