The Freghino (which means teenager in Umbrian dialect) is a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 20 Colorino and 10% Malvasia Nera grown on clay-limestone soils. All grapes are hand harvested and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, then aged in tank for 9 months. Freghino is true to its Sangiovese roots, though the addition of Malvasia and Colorino make a lighter, easy drinking red. Medium-bodied, with aromas and flavors of wild berries and fresh earth complemented by a vibrant acidity and moderate, fine-grained tannins. This is a great every day Italian table red, perfect to enjoy with meats, pasta and pizza.
